H.I.M. AKA born: Doug Scharin Years Active Genres Electronica Styles Experimental Dub, Post-Rock/Experimental, Experimental Instruments Producer Labels Southern (3), Perishable (2) Internet links On-Tour - provided by musictoday.com The experimental dub alias of indie staple Doug Scharin (a former member of Codeine who later drummed in June of 44 and Rex while also collaborating on Bundy K. Brown's Directions in Music), H.I.M. debuted in 1995 with the 12-minute "Chemical Mix," a track on the Crooklyn Dub Consortium: Certified Dope, Vol. 1 compilation. A full-length, Egg, followed on the Southern label in early 1996, trailed later that year by the 12-inch Chill and Peel. In 1997, H.I.M. returned with Interpretive Belief System, as well as a self-titled split release with the ambient duo the Dylan Group. Sworn Eyes followed in 1999.
